Facebook challenge has Nickelback in a pickle

A mere 19,605 Facebook fans currently separate Nickelback from a Pickle.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Somewhere, someone out there decided that the delicious concession-stand treat could out-fan Nickelback. So far, Nickelback’s Facebook page has a fan tally of 1,412,186 and the pickle’s Facebook page fan tally is weighing in at 1,392,581.

The pickle, which now has an official Web site titled “Pickleback,” is the second food group to compete with a major musician. Another Facebook group titled “Can this onion ring get more fans than Justin Bieber?” was actually deleted by the Web site, though it’s back up and running with just under 60,000 fans. Bieber, on the other hand, has 1.7 million fans.

As a Nickelback fan, there are only two things you can do to pledge your Nickelback support: 1) Become a Nickelback fan on Facebook and 2) buy Nickelback tickets.

Nickelback raising bar for future tours!

Nickelback just finished up their summer trek, touring with Hinder, Papa Roach and Saving Abel.

The rockers packed this tour with an interesting peek into their world - including some cover tunes (such as AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” and an acoustic set of Garth Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places,” an exciting drum solo by Daniel Adair and some nostalgic images through the eyes of the band, as well as social causes (during “If Everyone Cared”).

The band really upped the ante with this tour – expect much more from Chad Kroeger and Co. when they hit the road again!

New Nickelback video now available!

The notoriously criticized band Nickelback recently released their “Burn It To The Ground” video on the band’s official website, nickelback.com.

Nickelback kicks off second leg of tour

Nickelback kicked off the second leg of their summer tour this week in Darien Lake, NY.

The rockers plan to make their way down the East Coast through July, before heading Westward into the Great Lakes region and the Midwest in August, and then finishing things up on the West Coast in September.

The band will be in good company and fans will be happy - Hinder, Papa Roach and Saving Abel will offer up support through the trek.

The band spent March and April touring the country in support their sixth album, Dark Horse.  The collection debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart, and has sold 1.5 million copies in the US.  It’s a follow-up to All the Right Reasons in 2005. That album spent 112 consecutive weeks in the Billboard Top 30.

Dark Horse includes the hits “Gotta Be Somebody” and “Something in Your Mouth.”
